Enjoying watching your progress! I actually stopped by that dealership and checked out the TM last time I was passing through Orange. It's definitely got me thinking about something similar in the future.

Looking forward to seeing it all come together. Subbed!

Thanks! We've got it pretty well organized for now I understand that'll be pretty much an on going thing. We are starting with campgrounds until I get some more stuff I need for the camper. I'm sitting here looking at paces to go now for next weekend. Rt now I've got Outlanders in Luray and First Landing in Va beach. If your interested talk to Warren he is the owner and sales guy there we recieved fantastic customer service from them both.

I'll definitely look Warren up when the time comes. It's nice that there's a "dealership" close by. There's value in buying local!

Spent my first night sleeping in the camper last night! :woot: I'm sure glad we got the mattress topper it makes it real convenient to just roll out the bedding it would be nice to maybe double it or get a thicker one it's comfortable but firm. I did find that if you sleep with your head toward the front of the camper as intended all the interior light switches are at the rear so a couple of little led stick on lights up by the head of the bed will be handy. And this would be why I'm sleeping in it in the yard so I can see what I need to change or add. AC worked so good it was almost too cold on the low cool setting so I head to turn it down some.

Is the A/C loud when you sleep that way? Intuitively I would have slept the other way so to pivot on the butt and swing the legs out to get in and out of the camper when sleeping, also to avoid the noise of the A/C. :notsure:

PS most of my comments are because of being :jellydance:

Already on it I got some led pop lights for the inside so when you get up in the dark you can just reach up and pop one on

It's a valid question with the "head board toward the front and my needing the electrcal outlet close for my CPAP I slept that way. Yes the AC makes a little noise but not bad I will try sleeping the opposite direction tonight and see how that is. I got the pp lights because there is a red led strip light and a white led strip light in the front. The white is a reading light and the red a night light so it's not too bright but the switches are in the rear of the compartment where the panel is. A little trial and error and I'll see what works best.

I don't have one that'll have to wait a while. I'm going to try solar and maybe an extra battery first. I just won't be able to use the AC unless I have wall power or a generator.

Alright I've been working on sorting out how the awning attaches to the camper. If I run the Thule bars through between the material and the pole it fits tight and wouldn't let any rain in around the top but it touched the window in the side hatch when opened. I tried 4-5 different ways but finally settled on this.

I ran a 78" piece of pvc through the basket and attached a 3/4" to 1" T on each end. I feed the tie down string through it and seat the end of the awning into it and run the strings to the front and attach. This holds the end up and allows only a very small contact with the window if any. I was considering painting the pvc black and zip tieing it to the basket but I'm kinda affraid it will get snagged on brush if I go down trails with it. I may just leave it and store it in the camper until I set the awning up.

Slept the opposite direction last night with my head down by the doors. It was comfortable I just had to reconfigure a couple of things with my CPAP. The dog stayed with me all night I'm trying to get her acclimated to it as well. She shook like a leaf fr about an hour as the smoke alarm had gone off on us the night before and scared the crap out of her but she finally calmed down.
Maiden voyage schedued for next weekend! I made reservations at a nice private campground along the river.

Well I've slept out in the camper for the last 3-4 nights. It's pretty comfortable I did figure out it's better to sleep with your head toward the front of the camper you stay cooler. So I added a small led pop light overhead in case I wake up in the middle of the night it'll be easier to see.
My only issue really so far is my dog. I'm getting ready to take her to the vet now for some shots but I can't keep her in the camper she freaks out. The smoke alarm tripped for some reason and now she doe snothing but shake when I put her in there. I'm going to see if vet has anything for anxiety (for her but I could use some also) if not she'll have to stay with friends when we go which was not the plan. I want her with us to share in the adventures she's such a cool little lady.
