I bought the Toyota textured, cast aluminum running boards when I purchased my 2020 TRD OffRoad. The paint underneath is pealing/flaking away and the textured surface is starting to peal. Does anyone know if there is any sort of warranty from Toyota that applies to this situation?

I do realize that Michigan winters (road salt) can be tough on vehicles but these running boards were kind of pricey and was hoping for better.

    Thanks!

I doubt it’s 3-4 years. You could look up your exact model (they’re a bunch and I’d think made by many MFG’s Toyota sources em from) on a Toyota parts dealer and see if the warranty is included.
Anodized parts in the path of road debris impacts and clearing measures is a tough environment. Aluminum is soft and when the metal behind it moves (small dents you can’t see) from hits, the anodizing in that area is compromised, times many many small hits (again ones you can’t see).

Not the answer I wanted but at least I know. Thanks!

I did have my aftermarket steel bumpers refinished and coated by LineX. Will probably pay the big bucks and do the running boards so they match.

Wet LineX can be rather slippery…… If they have a good amount of texture, he might be OK

I’m frustrated that I paid so much (because they won’t rust) but they oxidize….
