Now, I will agree with that statement for the most part.

I’ve added about 600lbs to the truck so far. So about 150 per corner. Let me see where it was brand new…

Kind of moot. Your ride is your ride height just need to increase preload or coil rate but separate discussion.

I was at 39” ground to fender 9 months ago before skids. So yes, springs settled.

Agreed. Just saying even at 2+ inches my boots were fine and I didn’t drop the diff.

Nah. Honestly I love the down travel I get out of them. They keep my rear end on the ground when flexing. Never had a clearance issue yet and traction is amazing!

Anyway, point being. I’m running a big tire on 0 offset and no rubbing. Yeah, my stance isn’t as wide as yours but it’s very functional. And I have less rocks getting flung on the paint.

It actually does reduce the chances of injury in a head on collision. The cab mounts are designed to deflect the tire and wheel downwards in a collision instead of into the cab where you and passengers sit. Chopping the cab mount changes the collision dynamics. But... you do you.

Ya I don’t think anyone would disagree about a 2” lift.

image.jpg Here is the sheet I gave my alignment guy after my lift and he nailed the specs spot on. Might be a starting point.

Omg please tell me how its not the same? Do you know what a cab mount chop is? Have you seen how and what is done? Please say something worth taking into consideration.

I can't see why you couldn't fit those tires no problem without any rubbing? Mine stick out more than yours, and I only have 2" lift.
I believe I have pictures in the "Alignment" link in my sig. It's a decent read if you have the time.

    Good Luck!

Here's what mine looked like without the spacers:

Here's what it looked like with the Nitto's:

No rubbing even with hard off-roading.
    IMG_5758.jpg

I would highly recommend getting a set of SPC UCA's, to give you the maximum clearance; and then cut if you really need to.

I'm looking to upgrade to 34" or 35" tires; and that I know I will need to do the CMC.
BUT, 285 shouldn't need to cut any metal. (Only plastic)
285's can fit on a stock Tacoma without a CMC. Just depends if you set it up correctly.

    Good Luck!
