The die is coned so it grabs threads behind the 1st ones; as you turn the die, it cleans up all the theads. However, it will likely spin the bolt in place. You could press the BJ into that LCA to Knuckle bracket thingy to help keep it from spinning. Or grind a slot across the end of the bolt and use a screwdriver to keep the bolt from spinning. Just some other ideas; your's worked also...

Reviving an old thread here... Does anyone happen to know the thread size and pitch of that LCA ball joint stud? Where the castle nut goes? Im in a similar boat to OP @Dalandser

EDIT: For future reference: M16x1.50 is the LBJ stud / castle nut thread size

Got a set of "new" very low mileage LCAs last night. Apparently whoever took them off did not fully remove the cotter pin (somehow...) and just fed the ugga duggas right to it. A die should work in this situation to clean them up, but I forgot to measure before I left the house today

Without having one in front of me I’d say a M12 or M14

Im guessing M14, but not sure abut the pitch. At $30-40 a pop Id rather not guess on dies :D

Get a set - gear wrench makes a good one with a lot of sizes
