There have been a few threads recently detailing out what folks have done to protect their cats. They usually end up as "if someone wants your cat, they'll be able to get it" or "your best bet is to make it hard enough for them to take one look and move on". And not to leave out the final group: "if you really want to protect them, you have to store the truck in a gated community in a garage".

In all seriousness, there is not a great solution. Most skid plate manufactures only offer partial skids to the transmission cross member, which still leaves the rear cat exposed.

    Oh look, another mod....

Wrap your catalytic convertor with asbestos. If anyone steals it, they'll die a slow, painfully death.....like they deserve. :)

I put one of these on after my 1st gen (with 226k mi) Cat was stolen, funny thing was I was just about to replace it after not being able to pass emissions anyway

Not near as good as shield, but at least it will make them think twice, which is all you can hope for, as if they really want it, theyll get it.
