Catalyst(not ready) smog check

    I took in my 2002 prerunner for maintenance and now i cant pass smog check because the Catalyst reads not-ready on the monitor.
    The most common solution i get is to just put miles on the vehicle,over 1000mi later & still reading same.
    Any advise?
