    Hi
My Catalytic has broken from the bracket ( as can be seen in the picture). I want to weld it back together but there is not enough good metal left. Has anyone found a fix for this? the rattle drives me nuts. 20160313_091334.jpg

This is looking down from the engine bay just below the exhaust manifold. I will crawl under the truck later to get a better pic. Sorry its not the cat but the start of the collector.

Gotcha, can't help but I got a better idea of what I'm seeing now.

You can get a string measure the diameter of pipe and heat shield. Go to ACE, Home depot, muffler shop, plumbing shop, or auto parts store and get like a 4 to 6 in SS Hose clamp. Strap it around the shield and pipe! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tzQclY43IA

Can you get a straight shot from the bottom, drill it out and put a new bolt in? There doesn't seem to be enough room to get a drill in from the top. Wear some glasses, it will likely be raining rust and other crap.

Strap it with what, Baling wire? Its not the heat shield and zip ties would just melt.

Im thinking im gonna have to drill the bolt out and out put very large washer on which will give me clean metal to weld to the bracket. I cant just put a bolt through cause the connection is cracked all along the joint. Think that would work?

I took the shield off and drilled out the holes. Put it back on with new hardware and a screw clamp. It's been fine.
