Check engine light came on and it shows both catalytic converters are bad and I believe it. last time they went bad my truck exhaust didn’t sound the same. And now it sounds the same way it did when they went bad before. Wanted to know if there’s a cheaper replacement ?/alternative way to fix it. Also wanted to know why they went bad since I changed them about 3 years ago? I have TRD headers on my 2003 V6 double cab don’t know if that makes a difference or not. Any suggestions?

Take a picture of emissions label and I can look it up to see if there is an aftermarket option for you to use. If they are indeed bad than you have something else going on that's destroying them. I would figure out what's causing failure first before anything. Convertors should last the life of the truck if everything working correctly. You burn coolant at all?

Here is the pic. I’m not burning coolant at all. Now that I remember I’ve already replaced both converters twice since I bought the truck in 2011
