Love the smaller surface area as compared to others. How are they attached? The narrow end looks to be just a plastic plug? Or maybe I'm not seeing the bolts.

Yeah, it looks like the narrow end is not really attached to anything. Maybe I'm mistaken and it is held between something once finally attached, but I would be concern it will flop around.

 

It will not flop around. We have product tested it a lot of times on and offroad and have not had any problems with rattle

 

Is an additional security bolt set available to purchase with the shield in case the included set gets stripped of demaged?

 

Yes you can purchase extra hardware!

 

Can you clarify if this is for 2WD and 4WD or just 4WD?

 

Are they on the website or do I need to call and order everything over the phone all together? I couldn't find them list.

Will it fit a 2020 2.7 4cyl, 2WD?

Edit: I just crawled under my 4cyl 2WD and looks like it would fit and cover the cat on the passenger side. Since there is no cat on the driver side on 4 cyls I would be game to purchase for 1/2 the price since that's all I need.

I'd think it would be a good marketing opportunity for Cali since there aren't many affordable cat protection options for us 4 cyl guys.

 

12 gauge and not very wide? Tale an extra 30 secs per cat with a zip disc. Though sadly not much worse than any of the other "cat saver" deterrents I've seen. If I bought this (not that I would) I'd weld those pie cuts shut. Make 'em take an extra minute per side instead of 30 secs.

 

Now that I watched the install video, couldn’t someone just bend the unattached end down and cut the pipe, then go over to the other end on the other side of the cross member and cut the pipe there, then they could just pull the cat out?

The unattached end seems to be an issue allowing a grab point to bend the guard down easily.

Look nice and good price. I agree with others it seems like the front end could use a fastener, but it is hard to judge without seeing a set and how stiff they are.

 

Could just drill and tap the frame, pretty easy to do..

 

a significant feature of this style of shield is that it leaves the front propeller universal zerks accessible without having to remove the shield.
greasing these zerks is required periodic maintenance if you want to maintain warranty.
and of course stainless steel for 1/2 price of other styles.
