I bought the shields before we knew they don’t protect one of the cats on the MT. Still in the box…. I’d be ok with an extension piece you drill and bolt or rivet on that side. That shouldn’t take much engineering effort on their part.

Picked up a rattle from time to time on my drivers side after about a year. I have to get under there and see what I can do. Not loose though. A constant rattle with the hood open I noticed though.

According to @abc13houston a catalytic converter can be stolen in a matter of seconds. How crazy is that?!

Unfortunately thieves are everywhere. Victims of cat theft are paying the price waiting months for a replacement part and with a loss of $1,000. With our cat converter shield you will have on and off-road protection! It comes with a security key thieves can not get by. Bonus it requires no drilling, welding, or modifications and only takes 10min to install!

    Are your cats protected?⬇️

You mean when they offer a product that works for the vast majority of Tacomas sold?

I think people (myself included) just hope that they don't get new Toy(ota) Syndrome with the new Tacoma. Every time I see their story on Insta about 4th gen this or 4th gen that, my hopes for the manual transmission version dwindle. As someone else said, its just the passenger side that needs some holes that can take a bolted on (with security bolts) extension piece. Heck all the new ones for the auto versions could go out that way so all the manual owners would have to do is buy the extension set. The automatic owners would just have a couple extra holes, more cooling for them hahaha. No different than how 3rd gen Tacomas have a bed that is set up for the factory tonneau cover with the two little holes on the bed below the center window. I don't know what is required for the 4 Cyl or older gens but I suppose that has more R&D involved to it. And with the new Taco I know they need to start making more products for it as well. I mean... I get that.. they are a business after all.

I was just pointing out that the post was disingenuous. I hope they offer something for all the 3rd gens, but I also understand that there just may not be the market to support it. I don't know, as I don't have that data, but the hyperbole just comes off as whining.

Yeah I totally agree with you on that. I do hope they can cover the third gen entirely. It seems that Toyota wised up and tucked them in on the 4th gen so they can't be stolen or at least thats what some reviewer mentioned

Yes 4th Gen unfortunately has priority over everything. As of now we have a lot of projects in the works.

Dude... bitching at a vendor that has done right (or attempts to) by its consumers isn't going to get you what you want. If you're truly worried about safety.... Miller Cat (there might be others idk) make products for the second gen.

As for me, I will keep waiting. Obviously I am safe right now that I am overseas but it will be a bigger concern for me in the future. I like the design and serviceability of the drivetrain components
