My service advisor called me today to give an update and I thought I would let you all know as well.
He said all the parts are special order and would take about a week from today before they arrive. He also said the invoice for the parts alone is $3500! Not really sure why or how but as long as it's costing me nothing I'll go along..

Wow. I wonder exactly what all they replace. Called my dealer, they hadn't heard of this yet, but put in the order to start the process.

    From toyota.com

In the subject vehicles the front catalytic converter internal components may become deteriorated and begin to rattle. If continually operated in this condition, the deteriorated components could become dislodged and restrict the exhaust flow. If this occurs, the vehicle may illuminate a check engine light, and, depending on the level of exhaust restriction, the vehicle may experience a reduction in power. Toyota has developed a new exhaust pipe with catalytic converters to prevent this condition from occurring.

I read that too. Just not sure the 2 cat section of exhaust could cost 3500$

I thought you were going to delete your cats anyway... well then this will give you some parts to sell to off-set the cost of your supercharger. Win!

lol, yes i am deleting the cats. But i still will have to pass smog/deq in the future. Ive been running the supercharger with the cats for a few weeks. So, new parts will ensure good cats for future tests.

It seems you might be the first to do this, at least on this forum. Would you mind snapping some photos of the parts and maybe an after pic if its not too much trouble. I wonder if they replace the headers as well...

I don't know about $3500... I just had this done under warranty and it was just over $2000CAN. Still a stupid cost for a catalytic and resonator.

Don't see why they'd do exhaust manifold, let alone headers. That's before the cats not after...

My truck is currently at the dealer to have this taken care of. I appear to have jumped the gun a bit because the tech did not seem to be fully aware of the recall.
I will post the results and invioce when I get it back (hopefully) in a few days.

My truck is included in this recall. There isn't a rattle that I can detect. I will wait for my recall notice and have the techs practice on your trucks. :D

Spoke to my local dealer about this last night and followed up with a call to Toyota.
There is no time limit on getting this done in case anyone wonders. They said they will change the entire exhaust starting with the cats.
Also, not much of a chance to get your old cats back. THey said they're require by law to "dispose" of them.

When you say "entire exhaust" are you saying that they are replacing the muffler and tailpipe as well? There was no mention of that when I dropped it off last night.

That's what the service manager told me. Honestly, it doesn't make sense to me do do anything short of that because if parts from the cats become dislodged (reason for the recall) they might end up anywhere.
