I recently had the catalytic converter stolen from my 2017 Tacoma. Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement for cheaper than what auto parts stores sell them for?

Another question: Does anyone know why my TC light turns on when my speed limit is under 30mph, but turns off once my speed exceeds 31mph?

They stole your post cats, they are not monitored and its ok to buy cheap ones from rock auto etc. The really expensive cats are higher up and impossible to steal.

You need to have your ABS/TC system scanned. Low speed is harder for wheel speed sensors to read accurately when they are failing, you likely have a failing sensor, or corrosion in the harness leading to the sensor.

Yes the cats at the ypipe are the post cats and are not monitored by the the ECU. You can go the cheapest route and have an exhaust shop just patch up the hole and just run no secondary cat. Or go with an aftermarket ypipe like URD (4x4) or aFe (2WD/4x4).

I am looking at a bolt on Y Pipe option to protect my secondary Cats. It is sad where good people have to go through DEQ inspections but nothing happens to bad people cutting off Cats!

What make them bad? If legal?

I believe some TW members have said their states do visual inspections underneath. Seeing the secondary Cats removed would likely make a Y Pipe illegal.

Need to install a set of these to prevent this from happening again.
