I’ll give it a go. The raspy sounds is very off putting

They could weld it for you, not sure how it would sound and perform with dual pipes though. The borla muffer was designed with 1 exit pipe.

flowmaster actually pair pretty well with tacomas. although im not running it this time on my sport, i have run them on my previous two tacos (xrunner and trd or.) i had urd ypipes mated to a custom super 44 on both rigs. sounded nice and aggressive, no civic sounds here lol. your more subdued note might be due to your dual exhaust setup.

Thanx!! I’ll get with the seller as well to see if they also have a solution for the raspy sound.

The MBRP ones sound pretty good if I'm thinking of the right one. But a lot of people can't stand the drone on highway trips and take it back off.

I want the TRD exhaust if for nothing other than to eliminate that muffler seam near the frame.

I slowly pulled into a shopping center a few Saturday mornings ago and noticed a guy hesitate just before getting into his inferno TRD Sport to leave. I parked about 20 yards from him and when I got out he yelled "that exhaust sounds great, what is it?"
He seemed pretty surprised when I told him it was a TRD Pro cat-back.

the best is when you get your exhaust JUUUUST right and has that nice deep aggressive tone and when you open it up you set car alarms off LOL.

here. im not too sure where your muffler lines up in this chart though. but as you can see, super 44 is on the far end of the spectrum, and it sounds absolutely wicked on tacoma trucks.

Just my opinion but I don't think we can make our trucks sound good. Just not a fan of v6 exhaust notes.

They can sound pretty good. But you're right in that they are definitely not going to sound like a V8.

lol you dont want that rasp thats for sure. maybe you could get some resonators put in. that would cut down that noise. tbh, if it was me i would go back and see what kind options the shop could do for you. go back to a single in single out exhaust. from your previous comment it sounds like you dont want it too loud either. the trd exhaust is a nice mellow growl. no drone on the highway, but itll give you a nice tone if you get on it.

Have you heard trd or borla in person?

I have the TRD on my truck... think it’s about as good as it gets for our trucks. Just don’t like the sound of v6s in general.

Have the Borla S-type on mine. I do love it most of the time, not really raspy at all, has a slight exotic car tone to it though instead of the deep growl but hey, I like it. Just enough of a difference to make it enjoyable, no droning on the highway, I recommend it.

Well yeah v8 sounds better always! But the trd, corsa, gibson or borla all sound pretty good on the 3.5 without being too ricey.

I noticed it doesnt really get louder at higher roms, which is nice. I love the sound between 2-3.5k rpm. It gurgles nicely when shifting gears between 2200-2500 rpms.

Yeah, it keeps a fairly mellow volume through-out the range. The higher RPMs you get into you honestly hear more of the engine than the actual exhaust (not saying you can't hear it, it just doesn't get louder and louder like your kid does when she wants ice cream for breakfast). I've tried recording mine (the exhaust, not the kid) while driving but the videos don't do it justice, I can't get it to not sound muffled and dull, with or without a windsock on the camera.
