I have been looking to change my whole exhaust system to make some more power. these are all for the 1gr-fe.
Headers- Doug Thorley catless long tube headers. These appear high quality and relatively affordable compared to catted headers.

Mid pipe- Doug Thorley performance mid pipe. Same deal: catless, good price, mates up.

“Cat”back- MBRP armor lite, sounds pretty good from what I have heard

First off, what problems am I gonna run into with full catless? I don’t have to do any emissions testing so besides that. I don’t mind some aggressive noise but I don’t want to be one of those trucks everyone hates. I am planning on getting a tune with it so that will solve a CEL but will I have other problems with my o2 sensors? How bad is the smell of full catless?
Any input is appreciated here because I can’t find much on this.

Regardless of inspections consider that it's illegal nationwide.

Smell won't be too bad as you're still EFI. Unburnt fuel from rich carburetion is the big smell creator.

The Tacoma motor doesn't have a pleasant or performance sound, so louder may not be appealing

Your actual power gains will be unimpressive (from the exhaust charges), so the $ / HP ratio is pretty pricey.

Just some things to thing about

Also I’m not sure how restricting a new oem midpipe would be but that would leave me with some cats and the tune would still give me power.
