Print off his picture and nail it to the tree above the camera. Then get a snap shot (and post it of course) of his expression when the "oh shit" light bulb goes off in his head. :D

OP, it's not a big deal. He didn't steal it that's all that really matters, he's just some guy out in the fields, he also might be looking for a good hunting spot?
Would kinda piss me off too if he was picking up and messing with my camera, if it's not yours, don't touch it people!
Maybe you'll see him when you're out hunting and ask him what the hell he was doin'

I may build a "dummy" camera, and put it where the real one is, and hide my real one somewhere else.

I may also be a little paranoid, but i pulled my camera tonight. I just have the feeling that now these two know where my spot is, they may come back.

You are very lucky that he didn't steal your camera. I hate leaving my cameras on private land, I would only leave them on public if I was in the deep, dense woods. The ScottGuard cameras have a notch for a cable lock. I would definitely lock it if you put it back out there. 150.00 camera gone missing really sucks.

I would bet that this guy and his son/little brother/nephew/friend got a BB gun and went out in the woods behind the house to shoot it some.

The only thing I find odd about this whole situation, is that the camera was out there for two weeks. They appeared on it the first of october, and I pulled it on the 6th. They had almost a whole week to go back and take it if they wanted, but its was still there. Theres a DIY forum on an archery forum im on, and someone made a 1/4" steel box that I'm going to fab up for this camera also..

Hmm thats kinda creepy. But needless to say i wouldnt want ppl stomping around in my hunting spot. We hunt in South Texas and my grandpa has a picture of some hispanic ppl stealing the corn out of his feeder.

After you make your box i would type up a page that says something like, id appreciate it if you avoided my hunting spot when your out shooting your BB gun, put it in a page protector and put it someone near the camera.
Ps. dont touch the camera again assweasel

If the camera was on public land and dude didn't steal it, whats the big deal?
Do you have a tree stand there that he could have seen? It's not like you just go onto public land and "claim" your piece of property to hunt on.
It's just common courtesy to move on to another spot. Hell, I have had people shit right below my deer stand deep in the woods just to drive away the deer from a spot I picked. No biggie, I picked up my stuff and left. No need for confrontation between a coupla grown men with rifles and possibly pistols out in the middle of some dense forrest somewhere.
The guy could have easily taken your camera or vandalized it knowing his pic was probably on it. He was most likely just out scoutin for a place to hunt himself and saw your cam.

Not really, I used to have them rip there all the time when I worked at boy scout camp.

Totally Fing serious too. If you are carrying stuff around at waist height and loading heavy stuff into trucks its pretty easy to tear it in the crotch.

yep, tree stand was in a tree about 25 yards away. I just find the whole thing weird, since he knew he was on camera, fondled my camera, and yet left it there...for almost a week till I came and pulled the card out
