If you can, I think you should try to just act surprise and lie about knowing. It will make her feel good too because she is going out of her way + some into doing this for you. Make her feel proud that she was able to accomplish on "surprising" you

Absolutely! I'm pretty good at playing along with stuff like that. I don't plan to let anyone know I knew.

Now after the party is a different story. I can't keep anything from her and will need to at least tell her I had a strong feeling.
I'll lay a guilt trip on my bro though, he's the dumbass that sent me an email trail where the party was mentioned. She can't find this out because she will be PISSED at him!

I'm actually second guessing if the party is going to be at my house or my parents house. I'm sure I'll figure that out when they "direct" me one way or another. That still adds a bit of surprise to it

I'm July 8th and will also be getting hammered.

I don't like being the center of attention but that won't be a problem because my 19 month old daughter gets it all - and she loves it!

I didn't show up for mine. I don't celebrate my birthday and they knew it.

I don't look at birthday parties as a celebration...I look at them as a reason to hang out with friends and have a good time.

Anyway, being the night before, I suspected some unusual activity. WRONG! If I didn't find out about it 3 weeks ago, I would have NO idea. Some of my less regular friends have said some odd things about this weekend but my wife, parents, brother (in from out of town) and close friends have been VERY casual about things. We have some great plans for tomorrow...got a baby sitter, meeting friends, going to a bar for dinner and to watch the Penguins game. I was watching closely as we made these plans and didn't pick up any subtleties.

Tomorrow we tee of at 10:02am for a round of golf with my brother and some friends. I'm driving so I'm not sure where I'll be "directed" after the game. Should be interesting!

For those that may be interested...the party was AWESOME! We had a great round of golf and I went back to my parents house to pick something up. As we were pulling up, I noticed a couple cars out front (but no more). We walked around back and BAM...there were 100 of my friends and family. They managed to hide cars by carpooling from around the block.

Party was a great time! She had a local caterer smoke a whole pig, ribs, kielbasa and potatoes. Tons of other food was brought too. We went through 2 kegs of Miller light and played a lot of corn hole and beer pong.

As the sun was setting, we pulled my parent's 36" flat screen outside and all watched the Penguins beat the Hurricanes in game 5 of the conference championship series - we're HUGE pens fans and this was just awesome!!!

I WILL NOT tell my wife (or anyone else) that I did, in fact, read my brothers email. Although, I guess I only read part of it because I only saw that I was going golfing with them while she set up for "the" party. Apparently, the email went on to talk about who was invited and about the pig roast. She now tells me how furious she was that he sent it to me by accident. Actually, everyone at the party knew about it and asked me if I read it.
Anyway, no one but those reading this thread will know that I was clued into it the whole time. I played it off real well and seeing my look of surprise made everyone involved so happy.
