Was going through my phone and found the dealership pictures of my truck that they sent me when I was going through the buying process.

    How it started...

Do you have the cruise sensor in your grill?

Put on the Alu-cab for the RTT for summer camping. Wasn’t sure I would like the black canopy but it goes decent with the taillights & black letters. Tinted the rear window in hopes to help w/ inside temps.

I do and it works perfectly fine. It’s a grille from Taco Vinyl and it came with mounting hardware for the sensor. It sits approx ~8” higher than OEM.

Has anyone encounter rock chips on their 2019s so far? I’ve only put 20k miles and I found 3 rock chips. 2 near the driver headlight in the little fender pocket and 1 on the driver bedside.

Before you bash me, I do use my truck as a truck. I’ve used every square inch of the 6ft bed and some. I also make an effort to wash and detail it inside and out, periodically.

My first brand new ride and I’m trying to keep it in pristine shape. I do have light scratches from the trail but that can easily be buffed out.

Quite a few things at this point..
Had mine for almost 2 years, just about to hit 50k miles. Rock chips are gonna be a common occurrence. Just go buy a paint pen from Toyota, hit the chips every so often and move on with life.

Mine came with the paint protection, and that’s why I’ve kept it on to this point.

I guess it’s true what they say about the thin paint on these trucks. My previous 09 Acura had no ppf and daily driven up to 120k and it’s not this brittle.

Wondering if this paint is single stage. Could explain a lot.

Maybe? No idea myself. I got no horse in that race. I'm too busy just enjoying the truck. I'll worry about little things like that when/if Toyota stops making a paint pen in cav blue, or I've scraped off more paint than I wanted to while out adventuring.

As so many others have pointed out, the color appears to change depending on the lighting. I was not sure about the color at first but it gets a lot of compliments. It’s really grown on me.
