I found a cab top light bracket that screws directly into the holes for the 3rd brake light. There are places for lights and antennas. All the wires run into the cab through that light opening. Does anyone know of a product out there for our trucks that's the same? I bet it would be a great antenna solution for those of us who want toppers or bed covers and need a place for our antennas.

Not off hand. Computer crapped out on me and my iPad won't post pics. Google cab top light mount and they'll pop up.

yeah. i would bee worried about it not sealing good, and water leaking in when it rains/storms. also i would be worried about tree branched hitting it and maybe ripping every thing off. and casting A LOT of $$$$ to fix.

Good point about it getting ripped off. Something I didn't think about. I'm just trying to avoid installing mine at the left rear tailgate. I dont really like the look, but I have to put it somewhere so I can put my bed cover on...

A few years back I did this for a customer when I worked as an installer. I was new then so it could be done much cleaner than this, but you get the idea. Just used a file and made a small notch just big enough to fit the antenna cable through it. Take the 2 screws out and remove the light to gain access to the cab. The wire will come in above the headliner. You can route it down the side of the truck either across the roof and down the A pillar or down the C pillar first then across the floor to the front. Put clear Silicon II to seal the hole and make it non-visable once its dry. Worked great! and it was a free since it didnt require brackets :)

Nice work! However, I don't want a magnet on my roof scratching the paint off. I also have a sat antenna in that spot.

Sully man, love your bracket. I just don't have the ability to make the darn thing.

I bought the steel from ace hardware...bought a metal blade for my circular saw...the rest was hammer and bench vice...in the words of that dude from " The Water Boy"...."You can do it!"...
