Can't manage to find a decent antenna for my truck. Someone shoot me a name/brand so I know what to look for of a reliable antenna.
Every antenna I've tried I've returned within a day. 1st one has stripped threads out of the box, mag mount style, 2nd I moved to mounting in the bed, tried numerous different adjustable styles. Either it won't adjeust low enough to properly trasmit on the lowers channels, or the nicer ones that do that I'd manage to have tuned perfectly and working flawlessly, the se cond I drove around the block, the slug in the tip would vibrate completely out of place and won't stay tuned.

Someone reccomend me a reliable antenna that I can use thats not going to give me an issue or need retuning ever 20 feet.
Needs to fit one of these kinda mounts:

    http://www.alan-uk.com/cb/images/antenna_mounts.jpg
I'm using a mirror mount I just have flat clamped to bare metal in my bed behind my cab.

    Any help/reccomendations is much apprecieated.

The wilson has that small screw like the 1st antenna i had but non mag mount, that tiny screw or the fittings haven't given any of you issues about stripping out?

How do you adjust the fire stick, most of them say adjustable by hands...?

Yeah, im staying away from those, returns are impossible if you cut it and for whatever it doesn't work, I'll give firestik a try next chance I can find one in a store or if not however long it takes to ship. thanks everyone.

I don't know why everyone has such a hard on for Firestiks. There are way better antennas out there. For fiberglass check out Everhardt and Wilson silverload. Even better would be a Wilson Little Wil or Wilson 1000. If you don't mind the look, a good old 102" steel whip can't be beat.

    thats impressive.

Closest place the people will even remotely know their stuff is about 30 miles, I don't mind the drive but they're a ham outlet, I know they carry some cb stuff, but they're very limited.
