CB Install - Maxed out SWR

    Did you get this resolved? An electrical ground and an RF ground are not exactly the same thing, you can have a good electrical ground from the mount to the frame but still have a bad RF ground. Try tying your mount ground to one of the bolts that secures the rear of the bed on the side, below the tailgate latch, that is where I found a good spot when I had mine mounted in the rear of the bed.

    2.7 w/auto, 4WU 3 link, F & R Diamonds, ARB's F/R w/ Yukon 5.29's, Inchworm 4.7 Lefty, Deavers, ARB OBA, Schrockworks up front.
    ^^ This and be sure the threads are not touching your bracket too. You may need a Teflon washer for the bottom of the bracket as well.

    I ended up not finding any solution. The washers were all good, and I tested if they were grounded through the mount. Nope.

    I ended up being able to signal a trucker nearby and he heard me, so that's good enough I suppose. I mainly want it to use for wheeling trips, which will be close quarters. So for now I'll just operate with the high SWR, whether it actually is high or not.

    Unfortunately I ended up leaving my truck home and rode with one of my friends going. My copilot bailed last minute, and didn't want to make the 16 hour trip alone.
