I want to mount a cb in the storage bin under the temp. controls in my '12. Can't really see what is behind the bin and don't want to go cutting and cut some wire or anything else. Anyone know what to be aware of?

Pull the bin out, do not drill through the back of the bin while it is in the truck. There are components directly behind the bin. I pulled the bin used a Dremel, smoothed edges and installed a rubber grommet for the coax and power to pass through. Worked well for me.

How much of the console did you have to take out? Does the small bin come out by itself or do you take more out?

the cupholders will pop out, but the little bin behind them is part of entire forward center section.

I only had to remove half of the console. The bin does not come out, it is molded into and is part of the front half of the complete console between the seats. Do you have an auto or manual tranny?

Ok, pop the cup holder bin out, unscrew the shift knob, lift and remove the shifter surround. There are 4 screws to remove, 2 securing the shift selector and 2 that secure the front part of the console to the rear portion. There are hinges on both sides connecting the front with the rear, simply lift and unsnap.

That is the computer for the airbag system. And that's where I put my cb. I love it there.

IGLOW4LO, that looks great. Where is the rest of the cb though? Is that just the face in the second pic?

That's it Nick, I would never be able to do that though. I checked with a cb shop today and they say $150 for the install. Not as elaborate as that though.
