Idk if this was mentioned or done before, but I mounted mine where the dome light/rearview mirror is. I took the whole thing off and the bracket holes for my cobra barely lined up with the mirror bracket holes through the headliner using the same screws from it. It was a tight fit. Kinda high and a little bit hard to read but works perfect for me seeing as I hardly use it. I couldn't hardly see out of my rear view anyways because the back is tinted so dark. I can take some pics if anyone wants to see.

Don't have a pic available but a mounted a full size Bearcat under a 1DIN radio. Took some trimming with a dremel but it fits in nive and tight.

My radio is a little bigger than most of the ones posted here. I originally had it in the dash under my aftermarket radio (barely fit so it was kind of shoved in...). It was a good place but it just didn't fit.. So I now have it mounted on the back side of center console. The display and knobs are facing upward nearly flush with the top of the arm rest. The antenna cable runs over into the storage box in the floor and out the back of the cab. I run a straight cable mic instead of pigtail, so it simply runs between the seat and console and the mic is mounted on the cubby hole under the ash tray. The radio is rarely in the way of anything and it is easy to turn on or off.

Pull the knobs off the AC controls and gently pry and remove the cover. Take out the ashtray. You will see some screws, three I think, two up top one down low. Remove those. Gently pull out the radio shroud. You will need to unplug the lighter from the back. Voila, that's basically it.
