    I have this problem too. SWR is right under/above 2. The one person who acknowledged me that I could hear clearly says I sound muffled. It's a cheap cobra 19 just like the OP's. Maybe it's the mic? Should I try that first?

    I think one time I asked if anyone was on and I heard a faint sarcastic transmission "no nobody's on here". Almost like he could hear me just fine, but I could barely hear him, very staticky. This makes me believe transmission is good on my end. Either that or he had a crappy setup and that's why it didn't come in clear
