Small, cheap, nothing special. Works great for trail rides. I've had a 24" K40 power whip antennae (not tuned) and I was getting about 2 mile range.

    wildjerseyfirefighter,
Only way to do that is to buy a "fiberglass" antenna and PLEASE make sure it is grounded....

Yes,you can go as crazy CB/antenna $$$ wise just like "Mods" to your Taco but why not do it right the 1st time???

While not on the "Must have" list, exploringNH does recommend a CB highly for their "Runs"..helps everyone stay safe and the "Chatter" can be amusing :D:D.......

I recommend the K40 Superflexes. I little more flexible than the Firestik's from what I've seen.

Get the fender mount and a 4 foot antenna and you should be good. Definitely get it tuned though.

For anybody who has run the CB wire through their 3rd brake light assembly; has you noticed any moisture seeping into the assembly? Any malfunctions or reasons why to do it that way rather than something else?

I ran the antenna for the Sirius radio through that light. When you remove the light you will notice the housing (black part) is stuck to the cab with foam. You have to peel the housing from the cab. It usually wont stick back after that.

So, I just put some clear silicone caulking around the housing before putting it back together. Its been about 2 years with no leaks or moisture.

You also should cut a notch in the black housing for the antenna wire to fit through. That way the rest of the housing will fit flush against the cab.

I did this, nice and clean look, a little extra work but worth it. I would recommend when notching the 3rd light black plastic to place the notch between the lights so the wire stays nice and flush and I also used clear sealer for good measure.
