    hey i got really high peaking on my swr readings and was wondering how to cure this problem. i dont have the cb grounded to the frame at all just got positive negative hooked up from my amp. so any help would be good

    it really needs to be grounded to the frame man. where did you mount it?

    getting there....
    the antenna itself. not sure how you have it mounted, but put an eyelet on a good strand of bigger wire......like 14 or 12 guage and run it to the frame from the mount.

    well the bed rail itself on the second gen like right behind driver side window. antenna itself is lined up with black weather striping on the roof

    getting there....
    yeah....it doesnt have a good ground plane there man. you can leave it there....but you'll need to run a wire from the mount down to the frame for the swr to get better.

    sweet so you think 12 or 14 gauge will do the trick?

    it should. when we installed Canada's cb and wired it up......the swr was way off.....and so i twisted 4 good lengths of 16 guage together and taped up, and ran it down to the frame. it was perfect after that.

    speaker wire should work.......i think i used the cheap stuff from walmart that comes in rolls....like for wiring truck lights and such.

    yep....stripped the ends....put on a good sized eylet......twisted and taped them. if you use 12 gauge....you may not have to use but only one strand of it.

    eh i will get some 12 ga and double it not triple or anything. but thanks for the help its load and clear but i dontwant to blow the cb

    you can sand it down some....or just find a place that has threads for a bolt to screw into and go that route...either way.
