My build thread. Edits to follow.

So I went with the base model SR. I knew I was going to be changing a few things, and with the extra $4K-$5K for an SR5, Sport or Off Road, I chose the "make-your-own-Taco" route instead.

I'm OK giving up the power seats, but the Sport hood is a tough one.

    As of 11 Feb 23:

    SR5 / Sport / Off-Road Mods
    • 4Runner wheels 17x7 (FB deal, perfect fit, no issues)
    • Goodyear Duratracs 265/70R17 (ouch, cry once... not as noisy as I expected)

    Other Mods
    • Tacoma Bed Mat (this should come standard with the truck)

    Wheels and Tires

Lots of these 4Runner wheels on FB. Now that they are on the truck, I like them even more.

Tires have gotten 'spensive! After hours and hours of research, well, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. In the end, I liked the Duratracs, and the reviews here were positive.

Here is a before and after:

I thought the tires might stick out a little bit more, but this looks "just right". Both photos are the driver's side, but I flipped the photo with the new tires.

Not as noisy as I expected. A little more what I would call 'wind' noise. Very low tone. Here are some screenshots from my phone using the 'decibel' app. A little more noise - mmmm, yes. Interrupt your conversation louder - definitely not.
