It's a safety factory for me. I want to know if I go on a trip alone and I get stuck, I have a way out if all else fails. Plus not every group has a winch so I rather just have one, again for safety reason.

Haha thanks man. One of my friends was telling me it took his friend 5 days to do the trail. Not trying to toot my own horn but it really is driver skill that makes the difference.

Its always about driver and spotter skill. A good spotter and driver who can listen will do a lot of wonders

You could walk both directions 3x in 5 days. What were they doing?

    Yeah I agree, spotter too.

I have no idea. Not much experience off road and not well equipped trucks is my guess

Not sure as I wasn't with them on this outing.
But I do know that there was lots of scraping and rock placement.
Maybe they were taking their time, but there were no breakdowns just a pinched sidewall.

Rear axle is in pieces again. The inner seal and the retainer aren't sealing correctly. So I've decided to take different measures before I do something drastic to the rear end. TL;DR: Toyota redesigned the retainer for the Tacoma, in doing so, they don't seal up properly against the inner seal. Now there's an idea to flip the retainer so the bevelled edge in facing outwards, or the non-bevelled edge in facing the inner seal when all bolted together. In theory, if you end up pressing on the retainer on this way, the retainer and seal should finally mesh together and create a seal. Apparently, it worked.

So I guess one last try before I end up converting the rear to full float and disc brakes. :bananadead:

Random question, does your truck have the factory keyless entry?

I'm wondering why mine doesn't have it. I figured a TRD DC would have it...but I guess not since Cory doesn't either

It might have been a feature that comes with the Limited. I have the base SR5 so yea.

Is that basically the only feature the limited got? I guess mine is an SR5 too. Doesn't seem like I'm missing anything other than the keyless entry

I think the limiteds also got factory colour matched grilles and fender flares. Not super sure, but @synergy10 could probably answer that.
