You're both not wrong. But one of those updates isn't going to happen until November. :stirthepot:

The other one will likely happen sometime in the next week or so. Just have had no time to clean up the truck or take photos.

Well @betterbuckleup hinted at this in his build thread, but I got some "new to me" Stealth Custom Series F5s in a 16x8 -25mm offset. I've been eyeing these rims for the past few years ever since I met Vin. I also took this as another opportunity to try a different tire out that I've never used before. I know how the MTR handles and works, but I really wanted to try something different. Due to most mud terrains being on national back order right now, outside of a handful of them, I basically had 2 options. Wait another few months before I'd get anything, or get something I know I could get my hands on.

I ultimately decided on the Yokohama Geolandar MT G003. From what I've read, watched, and heard, they're a super solid tire. Also, I could get 5 of them literally next day so that was another big reason for going with them. So far, I've put a few highway miles on the and they are the quietest MT I've ever used and they balanced out with very little weights on them. I'm looking forward to see how these handle in the rocks and possibly the desert this Winter.

    Anyways, here's a few images.

As much as I love the look of the old steel rims with the rock rings, the truck feeling like a paint shaker above 45 isn't fun. The drive home from the last camping trip was miserable. As long as I can afford it, I'm most likely stick with aluminum rims from here on out. The difference, even between my last set of steelies and 33" MTRs, is very welcomed.

Thanks Ian! Pretty stoked how it turned out. Can't wait to see how these do in the long run.

Just curious why you didn’t jump to a 17” beadlock if you were buying tires at the same time?

Main reason was everything is on back order. Trail Ready Beadlocks are a few months out and Cooper said "call back in a few months." I got what I could, so I'll take it. Beadlocks are what I'll go with whenever I need tires again in a few years.

Another successful Slick Rock trip in the bag and the first real test for the truck on 35s. It rained the day before so the trail was definitely a little bit more interesting.

Made it up Gauntlet and almost made it up the hard line right up at the top. Front locker probably would have done the trick. Still a super fun obstacle nonetheless.

Ran back out this morning and went up a very wet Waterfall. Couldn't get the tires warm so took a little bit more work to get up.

Pretty stoked with how the truck did on 35s. Once this truck gets regeared and locked up front, it's going to be insanely capable for an IFS rig.

Not yet. Having a few problems with the truck and I've put a few things on order that just keep pushing back the regear. I'm hoping sometime in Winter I'll get around to it.

Oh damn!! Is that one of the "new" style ones that isn't supposed to puke balls out of it?

My crawler kind of sounds like a rock tumbler and this is exactly why I don't want to pull it apart lol

Yep. I couldn't get the roller bearing one that's stronger so I took what I could get.

That's basically what my truck sounded like. It wasn't terrible with the radio on, but it's didn't sound great at speed :bananadead:

That one with the black retainer is the "better" version. The new looking one is the old style that used to puke the balls out. I have the old style still in mine, interesting to see the "new" style spit balls out as well. New is relative, we are talking like 2009-2010 when people found this style.

Edit: Disregard most of that, I looked at the pics again.
