You mean there not suppose to sound like that? I end up checking the gear oil level in the crawlbox at least once a month because it sounds like it's dry. In 4 years I've never had to add oil to it. lol

Mine almost always has since 2008, as an added bonus I have the older style "loud" gears in my forward case so they chatter like crazy. I usually do a fluid change evrey 6months just looking for weird stuff and it's usually nothing in there. I haven't done a change in about a year, but also didn't drive it much in 2020. I'll change it this winter after fall wheeling season is done.

Yep. I did the same thing when I first got things installed. Definitely a little louder than I was use to.

All good. Looking good so far.

The TG adapters don't use double row bearings iirc. So not applicable for us sadly

It’s weird how different doubler setups sound. Mine is 100% imperceptible from stock noise wise (TG MT-4.7 to stock case). I got in a buddy’s 4Runner with Inchworm AT-2.28 to 4.7 case) and it sounded like all hell was breaking loose in the cases but he drives it all over with no ill effects.

I’m happy to not play bearing roulette on my TG adapter. Marlin was unhelpful to the guys that figured out the dual row bearing sucked and puked the balls out

Ya I wasn't aware that was an issue with the marlin stuff. I always thought that the double row setup was the best you can get.
I guess there's pros and cons to everything.

The advantage to the double row is it better supports the coupler vs a single and prevents fretting and stripping out the input shaft. So it has benefits, like any piece of machinery, some can spit the balls out. I have been running marlin crawlers since 2008 and haven't had the balls puke out for example. My boxes have always been noisey.

Parts gathering for the Winter Refresh is almost done. Got a couple more things to order and a few things are already on order.

I did see that. Maybe one day, but I'd be looking at swapping to full heim steering at that point.

The 4th gen T4Rs and 05 and up Tacos have a different LBJ design that solved that problem that our trucks suffer from.

Yeah, price ain't cheap. I'm definitely going to wait for a few people to run them and put some miles on them before I consider running them.
