    Well seeing as I just bought 2 sets of 35s, yeah, I'm good for now. No plans to go bigger right now.

    Well it just so happens that I can borrow a 37 for test fitting purposes. ;)

    It's going to be close. The MCM kit moves my wheel forward 3/4 of an inch, as well as I'm ditching the wheel spacers for a better scrub radius.

    I'm possibly going to add some longer shackles to the rear, but haven't gotten that far yet. Chevy 63s and 14" shocks might happen if the rear suspension can't keep up at all with the front.

    Can’t strongly enough advocate for custom deaver or Alcan leaf pack. $5k up front wasted when doing 63’s or lift shackles.

    Not sure how your current leaf pack handles, but I couldn't believe the improvement going from my previous dakar pack to the progressive custom Alcan's.

    You can't compensate for much with shocks when you need a good spring. I should have done an alcan set a long time ago.

    My rear can finally keep up with the front. I was hitting some decently sized whoops (at least for me) at close to 20 mph this last week at hammers. Before, the rear would blow through to the bumps with any kind of weight in the bed over any kind of terrain change like that

    Does your current pack have a couple of beefy overloads similar to the dakar?

    While I agree with you, my wallet doesn't. :bananadead:

    Current ride isn't too bad. The stock valving from Icon is just so bad with the current weight of my truck. Presuming I stay with leaf springs outback, Deaver F67s and 12" shacks are likely what I'd do.

    I'd would honestly like to not do a ton to the rear end right now since links are what I'd ultimately want to do.

    Gotcha. One step at a time I guess for now. get the front dialed and then see what you can do with the rear on a budget lol

    Just save another $500 over what you’d pay for a Chevy kit for a custom stock replacement pack. Or do lift shackles. Guys say their truck handles fine with 63’s have obviously never rode in one with better hardware out back. Not being facetious but LT up front and 63’s won’t be nearly as capable as MT up front and custom leaf pack out back.

    Definitely not ideal, but yeah. Eventually everything will come together properly.

    We'll play it by ear with the custom leaf packs. If the rear suspension is underperforming by a significant degree, then custom leaf pack is back on the table.

    I may be the minority here but having rode in a trailing arm coilover jeep, coil springs and 2.5 shocks jeep and a Tacoma with f67, and then my Tacoma with 63s and bypasses/no bypasses and now 63 main with deaver 62 pack, the best riding is my 63 main with 62 pack and the bypass. With leaf springs the bypass gives so much tunability and allows you to smooth out the ride for what your trying to do. I’d go a junkyard 63 pack with some thin leaves below it and 6 in shackle with a 2.5 or 3.0 bypass over a custom pack any day.

    and I have no intentions of linking mine. With a little more tuning on the bypasses, there’s not much I’ll gain by linking mine in flex or ride quality. And I finally bent a 63 main after almost 7 years of pretty hard wheeling.

    @malburg114 made his own custom pack. Chevy's have 4 thick leaves while 62" Deavers have 10 thin ones so not apples to apples anymore. I don't believe that putting money into a problem is the only way to arrive at a great solution, but it's time (and luck with getting some supporting leaves for a deal) vs money eventually. It's tough to say how much of a difference just the main spring makes with supporting leaves.

    I'd be interested to see how such a setup performs with a shorter shackle below or through the frame vs. a longer shackle above the frame. SUA setups either use a 9" through the frame or 12" above the frame and 12" above the frame is the more popular option for good performing setups.

    Hunter and Brandon from Acadia Offroad ran leaf springs and bypasses to great success as well. It's definitely an appealing option since keeping as much bed space as possible is something I'd want to do. Glad to hear another person backing leaf springs since they both said the same thing.

    Definitely not an apples to apples comparison, but it's definitely definitely an option to at least consider. It's something that I'm going to have to read more into since I don't know a ton about leaf spring geometry. Time-wise as well, truck wouldn't be down for a month or two getting 4 linked and I wouldn't I have to spend even more time before hand working an older F150 tank into the old spare tire location.
