Hmmm at 2200 you're near the price of one of those nice long blocks

Yeah, they're a hefty dollar. Hopefully I only need one.

Machine shops often have the inside line on finding used parts

    Let me know:thumbsup:

A word of advice - since you doing all that work, replace the knock sensor wire harness that goes under the lower manifold in the valley. once that thing gets old and brittle, it will throw knock codes and your truck will retard timing and run like shit.

Also there is a steel coolant bypass hose that runs front to back right above the knock sensor harness. Replace that tube and gasket while you are at it. Those tubes/OE gaskets have been commonly known to leak and that coolant under there will fry your knock sensors and the wiring. Ask me how I know lol.

What's you're current lead time on motor mounts for the 5VZ-FE?

I agree, definitely not doing all this work and throwing 21 year old parts back in the truck. Plan is to basically replace everything on the current engine. Hoses, gaskets, seals, tubes, caps, everything is getting replaced with OEM or equivalent. Only thing I'm contemplating is headers since I might supercharge the engine later down the road, but TRD or Doug Thorley are a pretty penny.

    Lmao! Too real!

I think it’s been like that for like 10,000 miles.

I’m pretty sure the engine mount perch has been broken for much much longer.

Dropped of the heads at machine shop. They found what looks like another crack in the passenger head. They're going to clean everything up and pressure test it to see if that is the case, but likely I'm going to be needing 2 heads for the motor.

    Everything.
Right now I have 19 kits on order to build. I get about one kit done a day, assuming everything goes well and suppliers get me my raw materials and parts.

So bank on 3 weeks if you ordered today. Getting the OE brackets from Toyota has been taking extra long due to supply chain issues, and literally no one is sending me their cores back after swapping them out to my mounts even though I'm offering to pay for the cores lol.

Good to know. Let me figure out the situation with getting new heads for my truck and I'll get back to you. Definitely interested.

If I were to do an engine swap, I'd be looking at the LQ4 swap. For the moment, still going to stick with the 5VZ-FE.

Once you do it, you'll wonder why you didn't swap them out sooner. Zero sales pitch, but night and day difference.

All I've heard have been good things. Definitely keeping them on my radar. Just need to prioritize a few things before hand.

Got the engine fully stripped down and ready for the machine shop today.

Was also able to get myself some heads for a decent price. Pretty stoked on that since these are the 2 biggest pieces I need for the rebuild.

Engine goes in for the rebuild in about a months time, so I guess next weekend the front suspension comes out and LT prep starts.
