What's the part number for the spark plug tubes?

@betterbuckleup looks like OEM - those spark plug tubes aren't able to be ordered separately unless purchased with an OEM head.

    Thanks Mark!

Yessir! They were about 1000 bucks a piece.

Or at least that's what's on the packaging for them.

Nice. I guess that's not too bad of a price for OEM

Bare heads. The machine shop will be ordering all that.

Definitely not a bad price since as normally prices are 1350, but still more than I expected.

At least you will have a fresh engine thats known to be legit. Never know with a JDM or junkyard deal!

That's my biggest reason for going with a full rebuild. I know at the end of this, I'm getting basically a brand new engine.

Main Machine in Concord. Kurt, the owner, has been very helpful and super knowledgeable with this whole rebuild process.

LT is going to be a fun rabbit hole that starts hopefully this weekend. Only time will tell how long it is before 37s and linking the rear.... :anonymous:

True. He's very old school about the whole process, which I personally am okay with.

Yeah, I’ve hung out at this shop a few times. Definitely old school. Which I too am okay with. He resurfaced my buddies heads last year and is who my buddy who owns a shop uses for all this machinist needs.

Got the UCA gussets to fit, as well as old cam tabs are out.

Still need to do a little more fitment work with the UCA gussets and do some more clean up work for the new cam tabs, but I need to pull the steering rack and brakes off to get that done. Got a 4 day weekend coming up here, so hopefully we get a lot more done.

You probably already know this but when you tack/weld the UCA gussets @Squeaky Penguin gave me some good advice by throwing a fender washer on each side of the UCA between the UCA and the gusset to make taking the UCA out WAY easier without making the fit sloppy either, especially since it will likely try to tighten up when you have the heat from welding.

A few people have mentioned that to me. Definitely something I'm planning on doing when I go to finish weld everything. I need some longer UCA bolt before then, so those are on order and I'll see if I have some spare washers laying around as well.

I am surprised you need a longer one, I think I got by with stock. :notsure:

Some gussets are 3/16 some are 1/8 - my gussets left just enough with 1/8 on each side. A "washer" made from a popsicle box in between the uca and gusset will leave a good gap for finish welding too.
