Has anyone used the CBI ditch light bracket on their 1st Gen Tacoma?

I received mine and they look like they’ll never fit.

If you have would you mind posting pics under the hood installed?

    Thanks!

I had Rago Fab ditch light brackets, and comparing them with CBI, they fit the same way minus cutting a small bit of the cowl?

    What's your issue exactly?

You didn't post pics which doesn't help at all. :playball:

I’ll try and get some pics. Do they not attach to the hood hinge brackets? Maybe I’m just way off on how they mount .

So I have to remove the side fender and the cowl? The bolts for the hinge that bolt to the body are hidden under the corner of the fender.

Ah disregard, I'm thinking of another car of mine I did work on.

You undo the 2 bolts holding the bracket to the hood, place the bracket over the factory bracket, and put the bolts back in.

    Sorry for the confusion.

Ahh, then I must have gotten the wrong brackets because my hinges have a hole in them for this piece (pictured, the hood closes on this latch) to go into it. The brackets do not have a hole so the hood wouldn’t even close even if I could get them mounted on the hinge which I can’t.

I was about to say, try using that bracket on the passenger side as it looks like the orientation would work.

Seems you're right that they sent the wrong brackets if that doesn't work.

Yeah, there is a D and a P on them I’m assuming drive and passenger but even then it doesn’t work right. Maybe just the wrong brackets. It’s possible they do mount on the hinge bracket that’s connected to the body but then I’d have to remove my cowl, fender, corner headlight just to get to that part of the bracket and I’m not about all that for a little light bracket. But even if that was the case when the hood opens it would smash the lights or even open half way lol. It would be nice if i could find some literature on it. They have install PDFs for every Gen except 1st lol and I couldn’t find any videos or anything.

Here are a few pics. It is hard to get a good shot as it is mounted under the edge of the fender. I hope this helps. It didn't take long and was not difficult. It took longer to remove the cowl to cut than to install. I had a friend help with the realignment of the hood and fender. Good luck.
