I also ordered an Aluminum front bumper on Dec 7th, maybe it will come in with the rear steel bumper that is scheduled for mid may.

Funny you mention the tube bender. One of the replies from them was that their tube bender was down for a month. WTF???? Even then why haven't t I seen my sliders for 4 months? A company that is a fabrication shop allows a critical piece of equipment to be down for a month with no backup? Why haven't they at least reached out to their customers?

if they're four people and can barely keep up, then I would suggest they not go so hard with the social media marketing. It's just garnering too much interest than they can handle, it seems. Either that, or they need to hire another person or two to handle production processes. Especially if they are expanding their product line to include the Chevy trucks.. that basically REQUIRES that they hire more people since they are essentially doubling their market share. Just my opinion.. and yes I did go to business school so lay off :luvya:

Got a reply from the dealer for CBI today, the sliders should be ready in 2 weeks which puts the manufacturing time at 18weeks. The aluminum bumper is about 4 weeks out but i ordered it 2 weeks later so thats 18 weeks as well. Assuming CBI keeps the schedule.

It took me a little over 17-weeks... so yeah. It's why I won't buy the prinsu rack either, now that I know they are owned by them, and I don't want the headache anymore. Frontrunner, here I come

After posting this and reaching out to both CBI and TruckBrigade I got a notification on 3/16 that the sliders have shipped. I have a feeling that because people online pay 100% upfront and people that call in put a 50% deposit there is no rush on the fully paid orders. I dont give a damn about long lead times, just be up front and say 18 week lead time. Instead they lie about having 4-8 week lead times and string people along.

    Here’s another roof rack option.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/uptop-overland-racks-and-accessories.599113/

This guy just finished testing his new design. I think it’s the best looking roof rack on the market. Definitely sturdier than prinsu.

Shit, if you ordered yours on Dec 27th, NO WAY am I getting mine in April or probably even May..

At this point, I'm considering eating the 20% fee to cancel.

Also, when ordered my bumper on Jan 26th, they had no lead times posted, at least I don't recall seeing any. Misleading consumers about lead times when you have consistently failed to meet delivery times....not a good look @CBI Offroad Fab

I got my front bumper in less than I week, not sure what you all are having issues with. Well it was a DIY Bumper for a 1st gen 4Runner :p

I called before I ordered and got some upfront honest shipping information. I don't think a lot of people understand how this industry works. CBI has the best looking $hit, you'll end up having to wait for it.

I'd say having it powder coated yourself could save months on receiving it. I haven't heard one person after receiving a CBI bumper complain about it.

I ordered a Miata Roadster Kit from Paco Motorsports, was told 6 weeks, took over a year to get. I figured on as much.

I've been reading this thread since it started and here is my 2 cents. I work in manufacturing and I know that delays happen, machines down, people sick, people on vacation, venders,,,ect,,ect,,
I'm waiting on a bumper, not CBI. Was told 10-12 weeks. At 13 weeks I emailed them. They got back to me within 1 hour and said 2-3 weeks. That was 4 weeks ago. In a way I don't mind because I would wait for warmer weather to install. But,,,,
If there is a delay let me know.
I would think that CBI and other manufacturers have seen this thread and would notice that the customers would like to be updated on delays so we could plan accordingly.

I don't think that they going to give a shit about it that much. Especially since we will keep on buying their products regardless of wait. But yeah, it would be nice to know in advance that the orders is going to take 4 months instead of 8 to 10 weeks.
I just received and update, "estimated 3 to 4 weeks" more on top of 13 weeks that I waited already.

Looks like CBI isn't the only place with ridiculous lead times though. Not that it is supposed to make anyone here feel any better, but it is what it is.

Just got word my aluminum bumper shipped early. It was due to ship 4/19 but it shipped the 12th. Kenny at CBI is awesome. Very helpful

    Exactly this.

Honestly, if you have lead times of 2-6 months in some cases, you simply aren't keeping up with demand. There aren't very many industries out there where people are willing to throw money at something that isn't going to show up for half a year.

I can totally see a 1-3 man show falling behind on orders because people keep reaching out to them asking for builds. If I were one of those guys, though, I wouldn't be throwing my weight at social media and advertisements. In that case, it's clear you have enough business and don't need to advertise if you have a 6 month wait list.

Or... You know, post accurate lead times and update consumers as they wait... You know, basics. Has anyone else noticed how basic their site has become, almost all the gear has one basic picture making it impossible to see details?
