This is in the review section haha. If I got a part that was messed up and the company didn't do anything to make it right, I'd leave a review as well. Most times I wouldn't post on here to ask for restitution. I think that is a lame way to go about things. Ask the company privately, if they are dicks, negative review.

I bet they just haven't seen this. Not all the vendors can be on 24/7. Maybe preparing a statement or contacting OP. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Pretty good on op's part for fixing the issue, installing the part and then writing a review. Usually it's a shitstorm from the buyer ragging on something so minuscule I ask myself why I read it in the first place.

I deleted my previous posts earlier, but for anybody who cares, they did do this:

Well then, glad that got cleared up! What about the OP though? Hopefully they handle it the same way

Wow... looks like this took on a mind of it's own.

I have been running the front hitch for almost a year now, and honestly it does its job. Pretty simple device once you fight the install process from the misalignment(s) it may have.

This thread was not to bitch about or not getting resolve from CBI. Again, I have everything in my garage to build one of these hitches, but at the prices it's not worth my time and effort. I made this post to A: help another person come up with some quick solutions to a crappy fitting part, and B: to review the product itself. CBI's horrible customer care is outside the point, and I was never looking for anything from them.

To date I still don't have a message back telling me what type of top coat material is suggested. When I returned from Montana last year, I welded the bolt holes closed, redrilled them, blasted the whole thing and done a nice epoxy primer/enamel finish. Took a few hours to fix the problems, but I just chalk it up to a lesson learned. :)

That's three Tacoma venders I hope to never deal with again.
