For the strongest skids you have to consider bamf. Talk to @JLee

Aftermarket non-mass produced boutique parts are expensive and have long lead times. Pick your favorite or learn to fabricate your own.

If you have a backwoods adventure mods hi-lite bumper it protects your steering cooling fins. Which I damaged before they came out with it.

It's odd, because most bumpers come down to to the radiator support frame... that area is not typically exposed.

It’s probably because it’s a two piece design. Steel winch cradle/recovery points with an aluminum shell that bolts to it. Seems like all the one piece bumpers come down further.

I really like the bumper. Super light and tucked up high. Winch sits deep in it and out of the way.

    More RCI skid

Why is CBI garbage? Is it the product, price point, lead time?

I do have some bamf parts and pieces on 2 of my Tacomas but, I've absolutely hammered the living dog shit out of CBI full skids, bumpers, sliders for 8 years on my 2015 and never had an issue nor have they let ever me down. It is 100% an offroad truck that has seen 1000's of miles of trails, rocks and shit I had no business on and they have held up like champs.
Please share your personal negative trail experience with CBI.

I think people dislike (hate) CBI because of the price point and lack of discounts. I have their full aluminum satin black skids, including gas tank and love ‘em.

I’d happily run the other brands as well, but think CBI looks the best for what I have, and functions just fine.
