Few months back did the MSF and got a 2008 CBR600rr.

H7 "PNP" LED headlight bulbs. There isn't much known on what LEDs for the housings as the seals are pretty close to the back. I went with these and though they fit they are making contact with the access cover in the back.

Hindsight, these look pretty neat, they look more powerful plus they sell extended rear caps.

    But moving on.

    Testing amps pulled.

So the OEM headlights are the type where one side is the headlight and always on, the other side is the highbeam- so you always get a, "yeah bro, your headlight is out".

Some company offers an LED kit that also provides a pwm module so both lights are on, and both get brighter when you click the high beam switch.

I was going to go that route but decided rather to just pwm the highbeam and set it full power when switched on.

Was going to do it PNP.

But doing it the latter way, it can all be done under the seat vs up front, dangling around.

    Halogen vs LED.

PWM waaaay more affordable than the cbr specific shop.

So with that, time to go into surgery to install:
    PWM module
    Healtech quick shifter
Re-plug in the rear brake light (don't know why previous owner had it off, maybe to brake without cops seeing the light?)
And since the tank is off, air filter.

Overall for the money (eBay LEDs, diode dynamics PWM with bypass $20 for two- only sold in pairs) I'm pretty happy. The LEDs light pattern is fine as the OEM housing does all the work taking light from all angles and forming it where it wants it. When the high beam isn't selected that light on the right is dimmer so I'm not blasting everyone (that housing has the beam much higher).

Still tuning the quick shifter. Makes me envy OEM equipped systems as I'm sure they shift like a dream + not just upshift but autoblip for downshifts.

Following this guys write-up I contacted healtech to get the instructions on how to set it to not cut out when blipping/rev-matching when downshifting (you would think all riders would want it that way, I donno).

    https://motoringjunction.com/produc...#Why_I_chose_the_Healtech_Quickshifter_(iQSE)

But healtech included in their instructions some tuning pointers and they have been helpful.

Can't imagine tuning a setup that requires physical access. Having this use Bluetooth and an app has been great.

She already has exhaust (though I really wanted to go with aprokovic, this came with the bike)

Aftermarket gear indicator installed into the cluster like it's OEM

Oh and a little time delay relay tapped into high beam input tied into a garage door clicker- first mod I did. It's in a black case but still want to redo it to be more compact and cleaner.

Anymore info on that time delay relay? Did you just take the guts out of the remote and wire it to the relay? Press and hold the highbeam switch and it opens the door? Thats a great idea

    Relay

Set it to about a second.

Yep. I was using a buck converter to take the place of the remotes battery but the power output was too dirty and so the opener circuit didn't work consistently, so I put the battery back in.

Very happy with this mod, use it a lot, super convenient.

If I were smahter I'd find a way to compact this much more and not even use a relay but something solid state.
