I ended up getting the 3' firestik with the heavy duty spring. I wasn't getting the SWR readings I wanted and with the medium duty spring it was pretty floppy. As a side note, I'm getting a brief feedback when I hit my brake pedal, so I need to try relocating my ground and or send my power directly to the battery instead of the distribution block. Which in hindsight I should have done before I bought the 3' antena as this may get me those SWR numbers after all. Though the 3' isn't as tall and obnoxious as I would have thought. I haven't really had a chance to wheel and chat with anybody, but coming down the highway the other day I must have had two truckers following me(out of my line of sight) who I could hear crystal clear.
