I have a leer I did the upholstery myself in. I have a shortboard I want to be able to store, it’s too short for my roof racks (longboards only). I saw another taco on the road and the camper had a ceiling net with a shortboard in it. I sometimes carry tools I don’t want moving around banging my board, and when I sleep in the back I don’t want to worry about the board taking up space.

I want to mount either a cargo net (nylon straps, not bungee), or two straps themselves to store a board. What have you guys done, and how have you mounted them?

I have the 3” long siderails at the exterior front/rear of the shell for an oldschool Yakima rack on top. Those siderails give 1/4” bolts high up in the interior that are perfect for a ceiling net. I used to have a soft rack strung across those bolts that was perfect for suspending my 7’2” pintail thruster with the nose coming through the cab. I got rid of the window btwn cab/shell w an accordion boot, that is a good setup to keep your wetsuit in the high net then your board strapped and pulled into the suit for padding to keep at the ready for when the swell picks up. I have a 122 so there is enough headroom with that for camping no prob.
