Check engine light came on yesterday...truck is idling like shit. No problems until after I got off work and cranked it. Plugged in ELM 327 and this is what it read. Any suggestions on how I can fix it myself or what may be the problem? Thanks.image.jpg

Random misfires can be a lot of things, but I always suggest starting with simple maintenance items.

Spark plugs (NGK or Denso/OEM), wire set (3 wires NGK or Toyota OEM) and a new air filter then see how it runs. The original wires on the 3.4 have a date stamped on them, and I usually see misfires after 10+ years.

Id start by moving a spark plug to another cylinder like #1 and if the misfire moves with the plug then its a bad plug if it stays then its something else. Its a process of elimination

Cylinders 2 and 4 are adjacent, so you might have a head gasket issue.
    Do a compression test.

I'd check coil packs before spark plugs IMO..

The OP didn't say, so I just assumed he had a 6, since he had a TRD 4x4 . I'm thinking very few
4-bangers would come with that configuration. He hasn't denied it yet.

    You need the following:
    - repair manual
    - compression-tester
    - mechanical abilities

If you don't all of the above, pay to have it done. I don't think it costs very much at all.
Even if it checks out OK, those numbers would be nice to know.
