I used a shop vac on a previous vehicle to put suction on each line just to make sure it was clear. However, the code for that was P2422 on a Kia, which said "Blocked or Clogged EVAP Canister."

Pulled the same codes.. I'm assuming the charcoal canister is the same for a 2.7l 6lug truck ?

Before you do anything, pull the battery cable and reset the ECU to see if they come back.

if we have an off road only truck,

cant we just remove the system completely,

    plug everything up,

    and "trick" the sensor?

Hey everyone. Just bought a 2015 dc sr5 Tacoma, after a week and 400 km - same issue you guys are experiencing. Will find out Monday what is wrong when the master tech is back to work. Great site btw! Cheers

You sure it was water? I think those normally get filled with gas if it's any kind of liquid.

Usually it's water that gets into the canister through the filter that leads to the filler neck.

And also the guy at auto zone says that the only filter that involves fuel is the entire fuel pump. Is this true???

    Just watch your gas mileage.

Unsure. I've gotten both good and poor advice from autozone. You might call your dealership and just ask what they normally do in the event of those codes. They will likely tell you that you need to come in so that they can inspect; however, some service advisers will actually give you a little more information. I'd start the conversation off with "I'd like to do some preliminary diagnostics before coming in because I live XXX away from the dealership and it isn't a convenient drive...."

If I remember correctly, I reset my ECU and the codes didn't come back. You might start there.

Thank you dude! So from what I've read in this thread the part is located in the gas tank?? Is that fairly simple to do?

Been driving around with my check engine light for about a year and a half. Finally due for emissions testing and finally had to bite the bullet and fix the issue. Replaced the charcoal canister and decided to crack open the pump part just to see. (See attached) no wonder the light kept poping on

Ron, mine did the same exact thing when I changed over to K&N air filter. I go the same exact codes, Im going to change it back to the original air filter, erase the code and see what happens.

I had the same issue, I bought a duralast vapor canister from autozone for $360 online and autozone gave me a $75 gift card. Never had an issue again and am saving alot of gas.
It was a little tricky to get out but definitely worth the effort. Not sure what a garage or toyota dealership would of charged me, but im pretty darn sure it be alot more than $285.
