Well I just started up the truck and got all 5 error codes as well. Fuel mileage has been dropping over the last few weeks and have noticed an intermittent rough idle as well. I guess this is the culprit. Bummer.

I had the exact same issue, went back to regular air filter, changed the cannister and its been fine since.

Guess I'll be doing this soon. Apparently driving in 8 ft deep water is hard on the evap canister. Got this series of codes over the weekend.

    It never efffing ends.....
Yesterday I had my rear leaf springs replaced as part of the Toyota recall. When I left the dealership my CEL and SLIp Assist light were both activated. I returned today to have a diagnostic check run. They told me it was my canister and filter. Total cost to replace is $999.35.

I've read through this thread and it sounds like this is a pretty easy DIY. My questions is, how pressing of an issue is this? What adverse effects will it actually have if I wait to do it myself later?

I replaced mine about a month ago. Took less then an hour to do them. Found the canister for about 260$ and the filter for about 45$ online. Its not a "pressing" issue per say but it can lower fuel mileage.

Old thread bump. I'm having these same codes popping up in the last few months. Clear them and they seem to only take a few days to come back anymore. Everyone says replace the canister and filter. I removed the canister and inspected it, no liquid inside, hoses tight, connections ok, nothing abnormal, so I reinstalled it. Looking at the hoses I found the vacuum hose from the intake to the VSV valve loose and dry rotted. Installed a new hose, I'll see if that takes care of the problem. Otherwise it's canister time.

The hose on the intake did not fix the light. I ordered a new canister assy and hose(back ordered). Removed the old pump and took it apart, corroded inside.

This will have been the 3rd time these have been replaced. I replaced them on Monday, drive in the rain, but I covered the filler cap in a plastic bag (fiberglass besides) three days after they were replaced the codes came back. I'm running out of money to through at it.

Been 4 years since this post. I just cleared the code then and it hasn't come back.... Until today.

I'm thinking something with the cold weather. Will update if it turns out to be more than that this time around.

Thanks for the update. I replaced my canister and vacuum motor a while back, and mines been good. But i live in Florida. Although I think I could have just done the vacuum motor and been good with that.

Just an update. No parts replaced. The codes tripped when it was a very cold night and I had a full tank of gas. The cold only lasted a few days and I cleared the codes again on a warm(er) day and they haven't come back.

I'm thinking I may have a faulty sensor or something, but I'm not going to worry about it until it happens again. (more of a when it happens, not if)

anyone have actual pictures of the bolts/fasteners that hold this whole piece in? I just crawled under the truck to investigate. Looking to see if anyone can help me speed up this process with a few pics before I go in blind. I had just the P043E code which looks like a clog. Trying to find what could be clogged after a weekend of off-roading. Nothing looked super muddy and I don go "mudding" but there was standing/dirty water on some trails.

Have you tried just clearing the code to see if it comes back?

clear it and see if it pops back up on the UG.

For those of you who do not have an Ultra Gauge....you need to invest.

so this morning it went from pending to actual with the inclusion of the CEL and traction light on the dash haha.

I did pull the neg terminal to reset it. we'll see if it comes back on. If so I will buy a canister and filter piece and replace it myself. Also, the UG did show the same 5 codes before I cleared them. So I am sure its this same issue

Do you have any pics or walk through for it? Im sure if I can install a S/C I can replace these components. Just haven't seen pics or anything and would prefer not to go in blind if possible.

I think used a ratchet wrench, you just have to feel for the bolts since they go in from the top. It’s probably easier if you dont have a spare tire underneath ether, you can just sit under there and reach over the diff. I think i just needed the vacuum pump and not the whole canister, but I already had both.
