Anyway, I have my outside temp display changed to Fahrenheit so I'm happy. Thanks for all your support.

I was screwing around with my head unit and found the selection to switch the units to Fehrenheit from Celsius. I thought it was great, and switched it. Then drove the truck and found that the digital speed read out also turn to miles per hour form km.
PS: when Canada went metric the deal was the USA was to, too. But they green egged on the deal, make situation we have now. Went to school in the USA from grade 7 to 12. Never learned metric! Now I am a CNC Machinist. And all the machines are imperial!!! Thank god. (And we all have big stones up here)

CNC machines are all made metric. The ball screws all have a metric pitch. There will be a configuration that makes it imperial. Because of this there are rounding errors.

I look at it as metric being digital and English being analog.
For example, in English, you would say "I live 2 1/2 miles from here".
In metric, it is proper to say "I live 2.5 km from here.
If you are using fractions with metric then you are like all humans and naturally think analog.
    That's my logic.

True enough, you switch back and forth actually, with a G20, or G21 . But always run imperial.

I travel to the US for work. When renting a vehicle, i change the displays to metric, then leave it like that when it goes back. Imagine their surprise when they figure out i've done an incredible amount of mileage in such short time.

Had the canadian work van serviced down there for an alignment after new tires were put on. Technician wisely took the van for a test drive, both before and after. His only comment afterwards was that he thought the speedometer was way off, but couldn't figure out how that was possible. I was tempted to toy with him for a while, and perhaps ask them to fix it, but alas, they did a great job at customer service, and work, and thought better of it.

    Metric system?

Oh you mean the system used by countries that haven't been to the moon.

We also did in tool & die as well as all like trades.
In wood working and carpentry that I'm aware of is all fractional inch.
At Home Hardware, which is a Canadian store, they sell nails and screws by the pound. Butter is sold by the pound, although its labeled 454 grams.

Rafter squares have decimal inches in the per foot of run table per roof slope , and usually a table showing the decimal inch to fractional inch conversion for when you have arrived at your rafter length

They also are in 1/8" / 1/16" on one side and 1/10" and 1/12" gradiants on the other

That makes sense. If precision is required then decimals are better.
The term "thou" is an official unit of length.
It's also interesting that they have restandardized the cup as 250 ml

If I was using my rafter square I would draw it with the 1/10" scale

I don't think I've ever seen imperial measurements written down along a decimal scale on any ruler/square/tape measure/anything else with units. Every inch is always broken down into 16ths. I don't doubt that you have such a square, just frustrated about people's choice in using decimal inches instead of metric to begin with. Intentionally making their lives more complicated instead of using an easier and vastly superior system just to "stick it" to some imaginary foes boggles my mind.
