So today my wife and I went in to put a deposit on a TRD Pro Cement and the sales man came out and told us that they do not make the Cement (color) anymore. Said only white and red are available.

Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?
This was the major dealer downtown Nashville, TN.

I went on toyota.com and was still able to build one with that zip code.

They were trying to push a MGM and Silver OR on me. Which I will purchase if the PRO Cement isn't actually available.

Your salesman was lying to you in order to make the sale easier for him. In order to get you a Cement colour he would actually have to spend some time to get one into the dealership. Find another dealer or find a different salesman. The one you had is only interested in himself.

And I believe that the pro colors are "rationed" and since cement is only available for the pro, is limited production cycle- Toyota will only make a certain amount and during certain times. And yes, try another dealership- sounds like the last one was not too trustworthy- good luck.

Sounds like your dealer is confused or self serving. Either way, i'd find another.
Here in Indiana Sunday is the best day to shop since they're all closed. We can't buy booze either, which used to be a bummer. Good luck!

well there's your answer. dealers try to sell what they own... it's on their lot and they must move it. that's their job. they get clowns daily coming in and asking for Pros who then walk when they find out how much of a PITA it is to get one. end of story. you want a pro, get ready to stand in line, wait forever, and pay too much. for most of us, that is. some of us did get kind of lucky with the process, but we planned ahead.

That's what they're hoping for. Like Smitty said, sounds like they're blowing smoke and just trying to make a sale on something you really don't want. Doesn't make sense to me that they would discontinue a color that seems most Pro buyers pick. Goodluck

I have been told that in some extremely rare instances, car salesmen will lie.

Yep, your dealer is full of it.

I just put my PRO on order yesterday (and also joined this forum!). I went with white, but cement was also an option (albeit with a longer wait due to the projected build date).

As noted by others... I'd recommend finding another dealer.

Could be two fold. So the Pro's are limited in production numbers and so are each Pro in each given color. Now whether or not they are done building more cements ones or if the dealer is just trying to get you into another truck in stock is a guessing game. If you want a cement pro I'd just find a dealer or dealer willing to allocate one for you. At some time yes, there will no longer be any cement pros available, whether that has happened yet none of us here could tell you or know.

I assume you are talking about Beaman downtown. When I looked for a truck I sure didn't have much luck with them either. Maybe the guy was telling the truth but after my first encounters with them trying to order my truck I moved on.

    For what it's worth...
I ended up using toyota in Murfreesboro. Since I've bought the truck I've been really satisfied with them. Took 2 TSBs to them and they installed them with no questions asked.

that sounds correct, so I called the local dealership and was told that your statement is not true. Now I have to decide if I should trust you or a car salesman-

So where's does this info come from on limited production numbers. From what I've seen If you want a pro you'll get it. Doesn't seem to limited to me.

I had a bad experience at Beaman myself...would take too long to explain but anyway I won't go there again. I would check with Lydia with Ron Hibbard Toyota...smaller dealer, easy to deal with and had the Cement Pro I bought for 5k less than Mboro Toyota's Red one at the time I was looking, and that was pre negation. Mboro was asking almost 50k!...Ron Hibbard are good folks that just want to sell you a truck, every other dealer in town wanted a fortune for a PRO truck.
