That is correct! The small trim pieces around the outside as well as around the logo are still chrome, the mesh is black.

That's awesome man, my wife fell in love with the cement color too when we saw one on the road not too long ago. Definitely made it easier when I went to get another Tacoma after my 17 was totaled in six months.
Thank you for you service, that wait to get back to your new truck, and wife haha, is going to be tough!

    Not much stock left.
Roger. I’ve seen where some people have blacked out the stock grill, and it looks pretty good.

Got it last night, its amazing on highway. I might go camping here and there but no serious off-roading.
    Fits in garage.

Just mounted matte bronze FN FX Pro wheels this morning! Love the cement and bronze combo.

I did a photochop and decided that I am definitely painting the wheels gloss black this weekend. I photochopped gunmetal and black and the black just looks right with cement. It's night and day over the stock wheel finish.

I have never cared for black wheels at all, but my cement taco came with them and I don't think any color wheel looks good on it now. Everything else takes away from the color of the paint imo.

Would you please share the process you’re going to use to paint them black?

I put the wheel vinyls on last weekend. It made a HUGE difference appearance wise. I don’t expect the vinyls will hold up well. Longterm I think paint is a more durable option.

Why not just powder coat them? You won't find a more durable finish for your wheels.

Yep. Probably $125 a wheel for powdercoat. Plus mount and dismount.

You could sell your stock wheels for $500 and get a decent set of aftermarket for $600-800

Unmounting wheels/mounting/balancing is ~$100 + powdercoating $350-$400 will run about $500ish plus the hassle and weeklong downtime while rims are at the powdercoaters. It does get into new wheel territory pricewise though it is beautiful.

I've rattle canned a ton of wheels so I'm fine with it. Prep, prep, prep. Clean, scuff, sand, mask, tack cloth, primer, paint. It will set me back $50 tops for everything and a weekend day.

My general rules to spray painting wheels: good prep, good weather, low humidity, no metallic/flake paints (never lays evenly from rattle cans) and no duplicolor (I consistently have issues getting duplicolor paints to lay down right). My go to is Rustoleum; I really like the Rustoleum universal gloss black paint/primer in one. I'll either use the universal or standard primer/gloss black.

Nice! Thanks for sharing. It might sound lazy but I'm thinking about just painting the silver part and masking off the already painted area. Was curious about how to best prep to get the paint to stick to the silver areas as I assume they are protected with something.

Sure, the silver areas are clear coated; you'll have to scuff it for sure.

I just checked on powder coating yesterday. $100 per wheel and you have to bring them in rims only. Kind of a pain in the ass. My OR wheels are looking better as is. The paint thing sounds good but I would screw it up. Pics when you are finished please
