The truck was amazing today off-road. I could have gone further down the road, but it got narrow and I didn't feel like pin striping a 3 month old truck. Got to see an amazing waterfall today, Abiqua Falls.

What dealers are adding this? I was on the list at Mtn states, and there weren't any inflated prices - no haggling though. I ended up getting mine in CA, because I got tired of waiting...

Not sure about $8k, but Autonation on Arapahoe is adding a $3k premium for TRD Pro's. They have/had a Cement coming in at the end of this month that they wouldn't budge on. I told them I'd buy it if they'd waive the $3k, they said no, so I told them I was going to Mountain States to order one instead and they didn't come back to me with an updated offer. Oh well.

I paid under sticker price for mine in September of last year. Definitely don't let these bozos try to get you over sticker price. These dealerships are ridiculous to try to sell stuff over MSRP.

Autonation in Spokane sold me mine at msrp with no accessories. I thought it was a company policy to not charge mark ups. Dealers are getting greedy.

You might be right, the two Autonations I spoke to would sell at MSRP. BUT, their MSRP were ~$3k over Toyota's MSRP + delivery since they had added a bunch of junk at inflated prices. Then there was also some other unnecessary fees hidden in TT&L ontop of that.

That's the next problem that when dealers get an unsold allocation they slam it full of any accessory they can to increase their profit. I had a local deposit before I bought mine next state over. They tried to hit me with a bunch of accessories and markup. No thanks. Even test drove one in Centralia. They wanted $5000 markup that they hand wrote on a small addendum paper next to the window sticker. They tried to play we are the only one in the northwest with this truck in stock card. I argued loudly with the sales manager and walked out. There is always a better deal out there.

Ditto for Longo in CA... and my CO credit union made their lives hell with paperwork requests. MSRP plus normal handling... no accessories. Hard for them, easy for me!

    Denver experience for me:
Stevenson had one with a ton of adds... 58k. Wouldn't provide a wait list

Arapahoe no wait list either. But said MSRP plus delivery/handling of 500. What is provided in the 3k????

Mountain States has a wait list. MSRP plus del/handling

    Hey gang,

The wife ordered a 2017 R4unner TRD PRO (Cement Gray) and got confirmation it will arrive in mid July. I know this isn't a 4Runner forum but this is in regards to the same color.

I got to page 18 of this thread looking for info on details regarding the paint and decided to post and ask my question:

Does anybody have info on if it's 2 stage or single stage paint? By 2 stage I mean base coat (Cement Gray) with Clear coat on top. Any input is greatly appreciated. About to order a coating for the paint and our dealer can't seem to give me a straight answer on the paint.

The truck's in here look amazing. It's really hard at the moment for me to go from the 2nd gen to 3rd gen Tacoma bc I'm in love with the drivetrain of the 2nd gen more but damn these trucks look sharp and I can't wait for my wife's 4Runner to arrive. Probably will get the itch to upgrade myself.

My belief(which may be wrong) is that it is a 2 stage paint. Up close it is gray with a slight pearl. I have barely seen the same color twice on this truck, its always changing with the sky color and weather(mostly dark and gloomy in the pnw). Congrats on the T4R Pro. I've seen them at the Toyota shipping terminal in Portland and they look awesome.

Cement is metallic (very slightly), so I'd be surprised if it was just a single base coat, just about everything is clear coated these days.

It is definitely a 2 stage paint. All Toyota paint for metal is 2 stage paint. The painted plastics might be a mix or no clear at all.

I got a new windscreen in me Cement Truck today. They had to order OEM from dealer. Old one ate a big rock last week. Glad it hit window and not paint.

Thanks for the input guys. Helped me complete my order for the coating I'm going to apply once we get it home and perform a light polish to remove any defects that might happen during shipping and/or dealer check-in.

FWIW my friend's 2nd Gen Tacoma that is white is single stage paint. He found out the hard way after attempting to correct a metal panel with a DA polisher; thankfully it wasn't so bad it couldn't be corrected properly and then sealed with a ceramic coating. He purchased the truck brand new so this wasn't the work of a body shop. To this day I am still amazed some car companies still do single stage paint (paint and clear coat mixed together).

Toyota was renowned for not using clear coat on white paint for a long time, I can't remember the reason. Lots of fleet vehicles are still ordered white with no clear. But apart from that I believe most are clear coated these days.
