You have to look at it out in the sun up close. Cement has super fine metallic in it. Same at Toyota had been putting on scions and FJ cruisers years ago.

Don't be a fool. Just because you saw one in the showroom once it doesn't make you an expert. The cement paint for all tacomas contains a metallic flake in it. ALL OF THEM! The sooner you realize this, the sooner we can move forward with more productive posts. For the last time, they all have metallic.

How about you simmer down there, hero. And watch your tone. I was looking for clarity. You don’t like it, don’t reply.

I think he was just pointing out that they do indeed have have metallic in them and you do need to see them in the sunlight to see the sunlight. My 2018 OR does have metallic in it, I’ve seen it for myself in the little sun light we have here in the PNW....

I'm calm, I just wish you would stop spreading misinformation across multiple threads. You've tried this same argument on several occasions now and it's not funny anymore. I hope you have your clarity now. If you don't like criticism, don't post misleading statements.

That’s BS! I ASKED this question here and ONE other place. I just wanted clarity. Hell, look right above your last post. You have an owner of one stating he doesn’t have metallic flake in his, so no one is spreading misinformation. Someone IS trying to obtain information.

Your "question" states the pros are a flat color, which is a false statement. They did not mix up a brand new paint code for 2018. Final answer.

You've been had then. Your truck is not 1H5 Toyota cement gray if it has no metallic. Here's a zoomed in pic of mine and you can make out the metal flake on the grille near the headlight.

The WHOLE reason for asking. The one I saw in KY lit up in the showroom didn’t appear to have metallic in it and another TRD Pro Owner on the sight stated how much he loved the FLAT grey look. I thought MAYBE Toyota added metallic to the 2018’s to differentiate them from the Pro’s. That’s all! If that is a problem for you, maybe the internet is not for you.

In lighter news, I got a pair of amber rigid fog light covers to fit the factory pro fogs. They clip on and I only paid $15.98 at 4wheelparts.com.

Looks great. I know yellow cuts fogs way better than pure white (which is what fog lights are intended for.) How much did they reduce the output?

I'll let you in on a TRD Pro secret. The fender flares on the pro are a semi matte black finish and the 2018 off-road flares are semi gloss black finish.

It cut the output down a little bit, but I wanted something for the low light liquid sunshine season in the PNW. Hopefully in the snow they will perform well.

On a side note, where's your turn signals?:boink:

Those look good! USPS burned me. They changed my expected delivery date from yesterday to today. I had Bible class last night though and I'm free all day today, so I guess it worked out. I'm looking forward to installing them. I think I'm gonna attempt to get a set of tails from meso next time some come up.

No it’s exactly what I requested. leave out the metallic flakes when being built. It’s actually an option on the Toyota build page.
