    Hi all,

I replaced my center bearing today on my truck. i have no practical experience doing this so excuse my ignorance.

Watched some youtube, became ambitious when they wanted to charge me $270ish. I ended up buying a jaw puller and C-frame press. Decided to do the U-joint too since I was there.

Everything went really well well a few extra steps. I had a hard time as we <my buddy helped> kept messing up the u-joint step. Were we really unlucky as we kept having problems with the longpins falling and breaking when pressing. Once. ok. whatever..twice though the exact same when pressing the final piece back on??

I am hoping it was just plain inexperience and some bad luck..

Anyhow got it all done..sitting here thinking I am done, but realized...forgot to stake the 24 mm nut on...

    Stake the nut on.

I'm going to have to do that huh...?

I assume you mean the needle bearings in the U-joint Caps. What I do is pack a little more grease in the cap, that tends to keep everything in line when installing the caps.

    Oh and Stake that nut!

Ok I got lucky..probably not the best thing, but was able to stake it..without pulling parts off..I did torque everything and will check everything in 100 miles.

Got it on Ujoints. just a unfamilar thing I guess.
