Anyone have trouble with their center caps on the steel wheels falling off when driving? My truck, 1000 miles has lost two so far.

I lost one, but I think it was because the guys who rotated and balanced my tires didn't put it back on right and I didn't bother to check. Stupid.

I lost one on the way home the day I bought it. Dealer gave me a new one when I bitched.

2009 Acces cab 4 x4 , Less than 1800 miles on truck and I have lost my third center cap. Dealer is becoming hesitant about replacing them. Has anyone else had problems with them falling off? I am only driving on paved roads, no off road.

I bought a set of FJ centers for my '07 Sport wheels and they fit looser than I liked....I put a dab of silicone caulk on each tab and in the indents of each wheel and they stayed perfect. As a matter of fact,I had new tires installed yesterday so I took the centers off before dropping off at the tire shop.I cleaned off the old silicone, reapplied and reinstalled them when I got it back.

I called my dealer's service department today to follow up on a back order of two center caps for my 2009 Tacoma. I last saw the caps flying down the highway at 60mph! Since my Tacoma had less then 800 miles on it, the dealer offered to cover the caps under their "customer good will program." Apparently the faulty caps have been discontinued. The great news is they have been redesigned and the dealer will order and replace all 4 caps for free! If you have lost any of your center caps, talk it over with your dealer's service department. You should try to get your dealer to replace them for free. Don't be shy about asking if they have a "customer good will program!" (p.s. My center caps are the ones that look like the inverted Jell-O molds. Also, this is my first post and I obtained my initial information about the faulty center caps from this forum! Many Thanks!!!)

I finally had my center caps replaced yesterday at no charge. Had this done while I was in having my radio replaced. My Tacoma is whole again!

What has been changed on them? Does my 09 built in May 09 have the new or old design?

Had to have one of my center caps replaced 2 days after picking up my 2010. Don't know where it went, but it went awol and had to go to the parts department to get a new volunteer.

1 of mine fell of on the highway two days after i brought my 09 home. So I just took them all off and now I have a set of KMC wheels and new tires so no more worrying about those crappy caps.
