So I know this is common, what's uncommon about my situation is that I watched my button and spring fly right out my window while I was driving. The dealer wants $300 for a whole new center console assembly. Since I don't have the button or spring for the latch, how should I fix this?!

Try a small magnet? Just enough to hold it down while driving.

This is some good info, but this guy had the button still. Also, links back to TW :D

This one is for an Access Cab. There's no actual pic though, does anyone know if an AC and DC have the same console?

Seemed to have better Google results when I searched 'console armrest' rather than 'lid' or 'latch'.

    Good luck.

^^^best idea right there, that way you don't have to hear your passenger nagging you about getting stuff for them. I got nothing to hide so I don't mind if someone else goes through it, especially my gf haha.

I hate how toyota only made it accessible from the driver side

I had the same thing happen, but the button fell beside the seat. I got a spring from the hardware store and some plastic epoxy. Mixed up the epoxy and gooped it on the latch where the tabs were broken off, then filed it down so the tabs would go back in the slots. Voila, good, if not better than new and a helluva lot cheaper than the $330.00 I was quoted by Toyota!

This has happened to me also, the button falls out when the two plastic tabs wear down. I just plastic welded on some new tabs and it works good as new.

Hard to believe Toyota doesn't sell the part individually. I sure as hell won't be spending $300 for this

The spring can be used from a pen ( that's what I used when I repaired mine).

As far as the button, maybe fabricate something or try a junk yard like others have mentioned
